COMPANY PROFILE
The Norville Group continues to be an independent family-owned business, based in Gloucester in the south-west of England. Our spectacle lens supply business was established over 50 years ago and is constantly being modernised to meet the demands of an increasingly sophisticated supply chain.
Norville continues to supply lenses to the most complicated of prescriptions, using traditional surfacing techniques as well as introducing modern inner surface manufacturing designs. We are focused on constantly expanding our services, products and solutions to a more demanding public.
The majority of sales are to UK opticians and laboratories but our group also supplies specialist products throughout Europe and the rest of the World, with a growing export market for Norville lenses, frames and equipment.
Norville are also pleased to be working with some of the best lens brands and products in the world, including Transitions, Nupolar, Trivex / NXT and Sunsensors.
We also offer a UK-based comprehensive high-tech coating service, specialising in multi anti-reflection thin coats, as well as hydrophobic and mirror coating, using the very latest equipment available.
The group has recently invested heavily in free-form surfacing and the latest 5-axis glazing equipment, allowing us to edge the most complicated of sports frames, whether of full, half rim or rimless design.
We have worked hard to introduce a number of branded frame products to the optical market, including Jeff Banks, Vera Wang and Barbour but have also supplemented this with our own brands, such as Superlite rimless, Mai-Zee ladies collection and Blitz Kids ophthalmic frames, enabling us to offer the very best in design and functionality.
We have combined our frame and lens supply business to work on complete package offerings for Sports Rx, Protective Eyewear and Rimless. One of the great success stories over the last few years has been Norville group's re-launch of Polaroid sunglasses to the optical market, supplying Polarised Sunglasses, Polaroid Rx, Polaroid 3D over specs and wraps. This venture has enjoyed great success, increasing sales for our customers and us.
The Practice and Workshop Division has received a recent boost, with the company taking over the WECO edging equipment supply business for the UK, as well as supporting this with the sale of spares and servicing. This will strengthen our equipment sales and give Norville customers a new supply option, supported of course by our NLS stock finished lens sales team, who continue to add additional products such as Transitions XtrActive, Trivex, Vista Mesh and other speciality lenses to their portfolio.
