Myopia is a refractive error that causes poor distance vision, usually appearing between the ages of 5-16, stabilising around 18 years of age.

Studies have shown that a 1-dioptre increase in Myopia is associated with a 67% increase in the prevalence of myopic maculopathy (the most common and severe sight-threatening complication of Myopia and the leading cause of irreversible vision loss in the world).

By 2050, Myopia is estimated to affect 50% of the world population, with 10% being affected with High Myopia.

The new My-Nor, Norville's Myopia Management Lens, considers the features of the central and peripheral refraction characteristics of the myopic eye, along the horizontal and vertical meridians, to create a lens design with three unique characteristics:

  • Horizontal Defocus
  • Asymmetry
  • Positive Spherical Blur
